We have half and whole hogs available, again!  Hogs are going to butcher tomorrow. With a hog you will get pork steaks or Boston Butt, chops, loin roast, arm roast, ribs, ground sausage (mild, sage, or spicy), ham or ham steaks, and BACON!!

The meat is packaged in clear, vacuumed packed, thick plastic. You can choose the number of steaks and chops to a package, along with the thickness of your cuts and bacon. With custom processing, the choice is yours.

Our hogs weigh between 260-300 lbs. live weight.  A half of a hog will run approximately $270 – $310. This includes the price of the meat and processing.

We just wanted to remind everyone, that you can buy by-the-cut from Henry Family Farms/Henry Meat Co. every week at two local farmer’s markets.

De Soto Farmer’s Market

Saturdays from 7:30 – 12:00 noon (May through Ocotober)

Butcher Beef and Pork Available…..


beefWe have beef and pork available this month!!!

You can purchase a quarter, half or whole beef.  The meat will be ready toward the end of the month and payment is not due until delivery.  Our steers are approximately 1000 – 1150 lbs, live weight.  A quarter of a beef will run between $650-$775 depending on the live weight of your steer, at the time of butcher.  The price includes the meat and processing.  If ordering a quarter, you will get a split quarter where you will get all cuts, not just the hind or front quarter.  To read more about the process, please click on the beef tab.

In addition, we have more hogs going to butcher this month. You can order a half or whole hog.  A half of a hog, including the meat, processing, and smoking will run between $275-310 depending on the live weight of the hog at butcher, which are typically between 270-300 lbs.

It’s Market Time Again!!!

I don’t know about you, but I am glad to see the warm sunshine.  What I especially like about the spring is that farmers’ markets open all across our country.  These markets provide an opportunity for farmers and ranchers to sell their products and also allows access to farm fresh, naturally raised, local meats, honey, produce, etc. to the local communities.

We are very fortunate to have the De Soto Farmer’s Market.  With 20 – 25 different vendors, you have many farms and ranches from which to choose.  The market officially opens this Saturday, May 2nd at 7:30 until noon, behind St. Andrew’s Methodist Church on Rock Road.

Henry Meat Co. will be there with fresh beef, pork, and lamb, sold by the cut.  Steaks and chops are two to a package; burger and sausage patties come four to a pack; and ground lamb, beef, and sausage come in 1 lb. packs.  We have new flavors of brats (4 to a pack) and summer sausage.

The meat is packaged in clear, vacuumed packed, thick plastic. You can choose the number of steaks and chops to a package, along with the thickness of your cuts.  Choose how thick you want your bacon.  With custom processing, the choice is yours.

Our hogs weigh between 280– 300 lbs. live weight.  A half of a hog will run approximately $290 – $310. This includes the price of the meat and processing.

It feels like spring…and makes me think of lamb.

lambbutcherThe sun is shining, we’ve hopefully had our last snow/ice storm for the year….and the babies are being born, here on the Henry Family Farm.  We are also preparing tasty, quality meat for our community and gearing up for the open of the Farmer’s Markets in our area!!

At this time, we have three lambs available.  They are processed into steaks, chops, 2 leg roast (leg of lamb), 2 rump roasts, and ground lamb.  The cost of the lambs are $235 (27.5 lbs of finished meat), $250 (29 lbs), and $275 (32.2 lbs).

More about the Hogs….

You can purchase a half or whole hog.  With a hog you will receive chops, loin roasts, arm roasts, steaks or shoulder roasts (boston butt), ground sausage, spare ribs, ham and/or ham steaks and bacon.  Our hogs weigh between 250 – 300 lbs.  The meat is vaccuum packed and labeled and you can choose how you would like it processed and packaged.

A half of a hog will run around $260 – $300 depending on live weight.

Taking orders now….

Taking order now for beef and pork.  We are taking several steers and hogs to butcher at the end of this month. You can purchase a half or whole hog.  Our hogs weigh between 250 – 300 lbs.  You will be able to customize how you would like your pork processed and packaged.  Cuts available are pork steaks, chops, arm roast, ham, ham steaks, ground sausage, boston butt, bacon, and loin.  Bacon and hams can be smoked or fresh. Our hogs will run around $260 – $310 for a half, depending on the size of the live hog.  This includes the meat and processing.

With a beef, you can order a quarter, half, or whole.  You do not need to worry about finding someone to split with, we take care of that for you.  If you order a quarter, it will be a split quarter so you will have all cuts.  With a beef you will also get to customize your processing.  (With a quarter, we will do our best to meet all of your requests).  You will get ribeye or rib steaks, sirloin steaks, porterhouse steaks, t-bones, sirloin roast, rump roast, arm roast, chuck roast, brisket, ground burger, soup bones, spare ribs, and stew meat.  We butcher between the weights of 1000-1200 lbs. and the final cost is based on the live weight of the animal plus processing.  A quarter of beef will run around $650 -750 and double that for a half.
